2026 German Chamber of Commerce and Industry White Asparagus Party

May brings with it the annual White Asparagus Party hosted by the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This year, it was once again held with great success at the Hilton Tokyo.

Grosse was a platinum sponsor of the event. Seats for Grosse Club members were arranged at the VIP tables at the front, adding a touch of glamour that stood out in the venue.

White asparagus is a seasonal delicacy in Germany, signifying the arrival of spring. Much like cherry blossom viewing in Japan, it's a major event that everyone eagerly anticipates when spring arrives.

The white asparagus is air-freighted from Germany with the cooperation of Lufthansa and DHL, ensuring unparalleled freshness. Apparently, one kilogram of white asparagus is prepared per person.

Rarely seen in Japan, the thick and large white asparagus gleams majestically.

There are various ways to enjoy it, for example, an al dente appetizer with a crisp texture, served with burrata, sweet seasonal snap peas, prosciutto, and sun-dried tomatoes.

The creamy asparagus soup is mellow and utterly delicious.

The main course is domestic beef sirloin steak with a white asparagus platter. This is prepared with a slightly softer texture, making it tender and juicy.

Immediately after the main course, the party's renowned refills of white asparagus and prosciutto are served. With melted butter hollandaise sauce, it's rich and delicious.Even though it's the same white asparagus, there are various ways to enjoy it, which livens up the venue.

For dessert, there was a Cherry Forest Tart. A splendid sweet with a delicious balance of rich chocolate and the sweet-sour taste of berries.

The latter half of the party featured a performance by the chorus group "Jammin' Zeb", whose members all possess perfect pitch.

And then, the much-anticipated Raffle time. Luxurious prizes were provided by each sponsor and presented to the winners of the draw.

Grosse once again offered a splendid piece of jewelry. When the item was introduced on stage, sighs of delight rippled through the audience. A fair drawing was conducted, and Noda presented the prizes to the lucky winners.
